The groom is the grandson of Harry Mal- pass, Forty Fort, and the late Jane Malpass, and the late Judge Robert and Augusta Hourigan. Hope Wormuth, Crystal Lake, was ma- tron of honor. Brides- maids were Gina Seyer, Clarks Summit; Lisa Hughes, Clifford; Judy Griebel, Littleton, Colo.; and Gussie Mal- pass, Baltimore, Md., sister of the bride- groom. Karley Liuzzo, cousin of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. Mi- randa Starker, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. James Urisko, Balti- more, MD, was best man. Ushers were Joseph Hayer, Hagerstown, MD; Michael Kenney, Philadelphia; and Tom Speicher, Carbondale, brother of the bride. Matthew Cirba, Archbald, godson of the bride, was junior usher. Ryan Mc- Mullin, Downingtown, was the ring bearer. The bride is a graduate of Carbondale Area High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in ele- mentary education from East Stroudsburg University. She is a fourth-grade teacher in the New Kent County School District, Quinton, VA. This year’s “Day of Caring” focused on the Back Mountain Trail. : The abandoned rail line was acquired in 1996 by the Anthracite Scenic Trails Association and is planned to be a bicyclist and pedestrian trail connecting Luzerne Borough to Carver- ton Road in Trucksville.
