Dallas Post Dallas, PA Friday, June 6, 2003 Teetering POST PHOTO/RON BARTIZEK The wet conditions on Saturday are being blamed for a one-car accident on Main Street in Dallas Bor- ough that resulted in a downed Commonwealth Telephone pole. Amanda Coleman was traveling southbound on Main Street when she said her 1997 Nissan must have hydroplaned. Unable to steer, she failed to negotiate a left curve, hitting the pole and a traffic sign, about 200 feet from the intersection with Franklin Street. While the sign is still down, the post has since been replaced. There were no injuries and no tickets issued, said Dallas Borough police, who investigated the accident. Recount (continued from page 1) the recount due to the small number of votes separating him- self and Yankovich. If the margin separating the two candidates were much larg- er, the petition for a recount may not have been granted. “Three votes is not a heck of a lot of votes in Kingston Township,” said Piazza. Piazza said no allegation of election fraud has been received by the office of voter services. “When numbers get confused, 99 percent of the time, it's a clerical error,” he said. Republican votes from all Kingston Township precincts will be recounted, including absentee and write-in votes. Democratic write-in votes will also be count- ed. All Kingston Township supervi- sor candidates have been called and invited to witness the re- count. Piazza said he didn’t expect the recounting to last more than a couple of days. With 13 write-in votes, Neil Allen has made his way onto the Democratic ballot for the fall gen- eral election. Chris Concert was the only other Democrat that ran for supervisor, and automatically picked up a nomination. A candidate needs 10 write-ins to get on the ballot; Allen already had 11, and gained two more through petitioning to have an- other voter-written version of his name counted. The version ap- proved was “Allen.” Votes for “Noel Adams” were denied. Piazza said Wednesday that no other recount requests had been received from the Back Moun- tain.
