2 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Friday, May 30, 2003 ALFRED CAMP Prominent physician and Dallas resident Dr. Alfred Camp, 90, of Dal- las, died Wednesday May 21, 2003 at Hospice Care of the VNA Inpatient Unit at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre. Born Aug. 25, 1912, in Nanti- coke, he was a son of the late Major E.D. Camp and the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Watkins) Milliner. He was a graduate of Kingston Township High School. He received a bachelor of sci- ence degree from Wilkes Univer- sity, a master of science degree from Bucknell University and a doctorate of education degree from Lehigh University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He also served in the Na- tional Guard. He received the Silver and Bronze stars, among other medals. He was a certified guidance counselor and psychologist. He was employed as a teacher in the Dallas School District for many years and was a graduate school teacher at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. He was also am associate broker for Bell Real Estate for many years. He was a music supervisor and was a former band leader and choir director. He served as choir director and organist at Trucksville Methodist Church and Prince of Peace Episcopal Church. He was a member and past master of the Masonic Fra- ternity of George M. Dallas Lodge 531, Dallas, and a mem- ber of the Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg; the Irem Temple, Wilkes-Barre; the American Le- gion Post 672, Dallas; and the NEA and PSERS. He was preceded in death by sister, Martha Birth; and broth- er, Murl. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former Jean Billings; and several nieces and nephews. She taught crafts throughout the Wyoming Valley and was a member of the West Side Garden Club, Kingston. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy A.; sisters, Edna DeLyons and Winifred Jones; and grandson, Lee Victor Price.
