4 Dallas Post Dallas, PA Thursday, March 27, 2003 Lieutenant JG and Mrs. Scott Stephen Walters, USN were mar- ried February 4, in the Chapel at Palomar Mt. Christian Confer- ence Center in Palomar Mt, CA. Pastor Matthew Hammett of Col- lege Avenue Baptist Church; San Diego, CA performed the candle- light double ring ceremony. Mrs. Walters, the former Alicia Katrina Thiessen, is the daugh- ter of Isaac and Luan Thiessen, Missionaries in Rasarito, Mexico. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Breithaupt of Tacoma, WA and Mr. and Mrs. David Thiessen of Vanderoof, British Columbia, Canada. The groom is the son of Gary and Nan- cy Walters of Shavertown. He is the grandson of Harry West and the late Jane West, formerly of Plymouth and Bette Walters and the late Quentin “Cap” Walters of Dallas. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a Spanish lace gown designed and made by her mother. She chose Nika Dunn of National City, CA as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids in- cluded Susan Walters, sister of the groom and Megan Tribendis, cousin of the groom, of Shavertown. The groom chose his college roommate, Todd Curyto of Philadel- phia as his best man. Groomsmen included; Michael Tribendis, cousin of the groom, of forty-fort. An evening reception was held at the Palomar Mt. Christian Conference Center, Palomar Mt, CA. Musical selections were per- formed by Benjamin Thiessen, Tobias Walters, and the Messianic Dance Ministry. The couple were entertained at an engagement party at the home of the groom's parents last spring in Shavertown. Mrs. Walters received her diploma from the State of Washington, educated in Canada and the USA. She speaks fluent Spanish and has completed business courses at San Diego City College. She was employed by the Mashaal’s of La Jolla, CA. Lt. Walters is a 1994 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, Lehman, PA and in 1998 graduated cum laude from the Universi- ty of Pittsburgh with a BS degree in Chemistry. He was commis- sioned as an ensign with honors from Carnegie-Mellon University Navy ROTC. He earned his “wings” at Pensacola Air Station, FL. Promoted to lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, he is an aircraft com- mander and a CH-46D pilot, who completed a six-month deploy- ment to the Persian Gulf and a three-month deployment to the Sea of Japan. Following a honeymoon traveling along the Pacific Coast to Seat- tle, WA, the couple is stationed in Guam. In June, they will be transferred to NAS Corpus Christi, Texas. Lt.
