Godspell is an at once a comic, dramatic, and moving retelling of parables from the Gospels and the Passion of Christ. The setting is meant to be gritty and urban, and the context of the stories made modern and relevant — as though Matthew, Mark, Luke and John had been writing in the 21st century rather than in the first. Songs, games, and gags of many genres are woven together to create.a ta- pestry of timeless morals. The cast includes Kyle Barnett as Jesus, with Mary Beth Dougherty, Sarah Fisher, Meghan Dwyer, CM psychology professor Charles “Dr. Chuck” Ladeunesse, Justin Lukasewicz, Michelle Markellos, Luis Martinez, Mary Smee and Christina Stango.
