Lehman UMC Women to meet Feb. 25 The regular monthly meeting of the Lehman United Methodist Women will be held February 25 at 7 p.m. at the church. Pack 281 Pinewood Derby Cub Scout Pack 281, Dallas, held its annual Pinewood Derby truck races recently at the Dallas High School gymnasium. Over 60 pack members participated in the race and truck show. Many friends and family members eagerly watched the trucks as they sped by the track with finishes separated by only hundredths of a second. Fastest trucks were: first place, Colin Casto; second place Matthew Congdon; third place Michael Calkins; fourth place Tyler Morgan; fifth place Nick Dennis, and sixth place Chris Tamanini. Best of show were first place Alex Zubko; second place Carl Baxter, and third place Anthony Pizzo. The following boys placed in the race and show. Lehman Twp. taxes now due Lehman Township Tax Collec- tor, Peggy Moyer, advises taxpay- ers that the 2003 County/Munic- ipal real estate, township per capita and street light tax bills were mailed January 31. All bills were mailed to the property own- er and/or resident at their- last known address. Anyone not re- ceiving their tax bill, recently moved, or has recently sold their property, should notify the tax collector. Responsibility to receive the tax bill rests with the proper- ty owner or resident. Anyone having an escrow ac- count should promptly forward only the real estate tax bill on to their mortgaging company for payment. All residents 18 and older are required to pay the township per capita tax. Anyone who did not receive a bill should contact the tax office. Payments must be received or be postmarked on or before the April 1 deadline to receive the 2 percent rebate value. Anyone mailing in their taxes should en- close a self-addressed stamped envelope for a copy of their paid receipt. As noted on the outside of each envelope, there are no office hours during the month of Feb- ruar.y Payments during this time are being accepted by mail only. Scout awards at Trucksville UMC Three members of the Trucksville United Methodist Church recently received the God and Service Adult Recognition Award for their contributions to the scouting programs at the church and in the community. Betty June Mathers, Karen Williams and Carol Hadsall received the award. This award is given to persons who have given at least five years of service to the church and youth programs. They have promoted reli- gious activities and community service.
