Cleary, a 1999 graduate of Dallas High School, currently a senior at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, has been notified of his selections to the dean’s list for the fall semester. He is currently writing an hon- ors thesis for his major in eco- nomics. Michael recently had an article on The Economics of So- cial Policy published in the Uni- versity of Wisconsin Press. After graduation in May, Cleary will attend Marine Corps Officer Candidate School. Cleary has also qualified for Marine Corps Flight School. E. Stroudsburg Univ. Three Back Mountain East Stroudsburg University stu- dents have been named to the deans list for the fall semester of the 200202003 academic year. Students eligible for the deans list are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better. Donkey basketball at Lake-Lehman The annual Lake-Lehman Donkey Basketball game, pitting seniors against the faculty will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 24, in the high school gym. A pregame exhibition will feature the senior girls vs. the senior boys (who will wear box- ing gloves). This game will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $4 from members of the se- nior class, in the high school of- fice, and at the door. Outstanding students at Dallas Middle School Recently, an assembly was held at the Dallas Middle School to honor outstanding academic students who achieved placement for the first marking period. Mr. Anthony Martinelli, Dallas Middle School principal, announced that 10 eighth graders, 19 seventh graders, and 19 sixth grade students achieved Honors With Distinction. Wyoming Sem Lower School @ ® admission screening Jan. 25 The Wyoming Seminary Lower School in Forty Fort invites par- ents of children ages 3 through 5 who are interested in attend- ing Wyoming Seminary to bring their children to an admission screening on Saturday, January 25 between 9 a.m. and 12 noon. Touey wins community award At a recent assembly, Mr. Michael Shevock, Dallas Middle School guidance counselor, announced the winner of the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. The award is an annual competition open to all students across the country. The award recognizes students for their dedication and commitment to volunteerism. Amanda Touey, an eighth grade student, was honored for her many hours in rescu- ing stray kittens in her neighborhood. She raised the animals until they were old enough to be adopted, and then found families to take in the kittens.
