NELSON CORDLE Employed as a radar technician at Red Rock Station Nelson E. Cordle, 81, of Har- veys Lake and West Wyoming, died Wednesday November 20, 2002 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born Oct. 23, 1921, in Ken- tucky, he was the son of the late Walter and Eliza Cordle. He was educated in Kentucky schools. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was employed by the U.S. government as a radar technician at Red Rock Station. He was a member of the Dallas Masonic Lodge and the Harveys Lake American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie. Surviving is a nephew, Glen Cordle, Rush, Ky. ALFRED RESTAINO Served as a member of the Atomic Energy Commission Alfred J. Restaino, of Wilm- ington, Del., died Tuesday No- vember 19, 2002. Born Feb.. "18, 1.1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Clement and Cecelia (Orlando) Restaino. He received his bachelors degree Magna Cum Laude from St. Francis College of N.Y., and his mas- ter's degree/Ph.D in physical and polymer chemistry from Brooklyn Polytech Institute. He was director of corporate re- search and development for ICI Americas. He served as a mem- ber of the Atomic Energy Com- mission and as the executive director of the Office of Science and Technology to former Delaware Governor Mike Castle. He was employed as an adjunct professor of physical chemistry at the University of Delaware. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Raffaela B.; sons, Stephen, Chesapeake, Va.; Al- fred, Hudson, Ohio; Peter, Shavertown; Mario, Media; daughter, Lisa Restaino Flaher- ty, Bear, Del; 13 grandchil- dren; and brothers, Fred, Neil and Clem.
