Landmesser, 87, of Dallas, died Sunday October 27, 2002 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born Jan. :19, : 1915, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Edward M. and Anna (Bausch) Landmesser. He was a 1933 graduate of Meyers High School. He worked for Tasty Baking Co., Philadelphia, and, before he retired in 1980, worked for Luzerne National Bank. He was a member of the Grant Street Presbyterian Church which was merged with Christ United Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the George M. Dallas Lodge 531 F&AM, Dallas. He was preceded his wife, Dorothy, Karl W. King, of Harveys Lake, died October 10, 2002 at St. Pe- tersburg General Hospital, Florida. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and served in the Pacific. He was a maintenance supervisor for the St. Peters- burg Kennel Club for 26 years and was a member of the Amer- ican Legion Post 125, St. Pe- tersburg. Surviving, are his wife, Elsie; his mother, Mae King, Dallas; sons, Mark, Roy and David, all of St. Petersburg; daughters, Maureen Boullion, Calif.; Kathy McAvoy, Tallahassee; 12 grand- children; a sister, Dorothy King Wadas, Shavertown; brothers, Donald, Benton; Richard, Mount Zion; Lyle and Edwin, both of Dallas. HANS HACKER Holocaust survivor, was retired shoe designer and manufacturer Hans Hacker, 81, of Dallas, passed away peacefully Sunday November 3, 2002 He was the son of the late Greta and Halnrich Hacker of Vienna, Austria. As a Holocaust survivor, he immigrated to Zurich, Switzerland in 1938 where he met his wife, Edith. Together they migrated to the U.S. in 1948. Hans was a retired shoe de- signer and manufacturer. He belonged to Fox Hill Country ~ Club in West Pittston, Temple Israel, and the JCC. He played on the Junior Davis Cup for Austria. He enjoyed Monday night dinner with his social club and being a wonderful grandpa to his three beautiful grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by Edith, his beloved wife of 56 years, on June 2, 2000. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughter Peggy Adams, son-in- law Brian and grandchildren Ross, Mitchell and Meredith. William E. Paulsen, 75, of Dallas, died Friday November 1, 2002 evening at his home surrounded by his family, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. : He was born September 9, 1927, in Yonkers, N.Y. He was a member of Dallas United Methodist Church and attend- ed the Sherman Bible Chapel, Sherman, Pa. He served in the U.S. Navy 1945-1948 (Pacific). He designed and built his beloved cabin in the mountains from which he pursued his love of nature-hunting and fishing. He also loved “communing with the angels” piloting his Cessna aircraft. He was an enthusias- tic member of the Irem Temple Brass Band, and encouraged his grandson to continue the trumpet legacy. He retired in 1999 as founder and President of WEPCO, INC., a sales and engineering compa- ny he guided for 28 years with great creativity, vision and per- severance. In his earlier career, he was a design engineer for Link Aviation, working on sim- ulators for the: NASA Apollo program as well as assisting in the design of special ocean re- search equipment for Edwin A. Link. He was a member of Lodge 61, F.&A.M., Wilkes- Barre, Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg, and Irem Temple, Wilkes-Barre. Surviving are his wife of 48 years Winnie (Fellows); two sons, Christopher, Harpursville, N.Y.; Russell, Kennesaw, Ga.; daughter, Wendy Carey, Dallas; seven grandchildren; sister, Carol Rapp, Deep Water, Mo.; uncles, Gordon, Douglaston, N.Y.; and Leslie, Vancouver, Wash.; and a large extended family. Considine, 81, of Hanover Township, died Sunday November 3, 2002 at Inpatient Unit of Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Lykens, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Moore) Farrell. She gradu- ated from Meyers High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a RN at Mercy Hospital, and the Visiting Nurse Association. She belonged to St. Aloysius Church and was president of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was active in the PTA and also served a term as it’s president. She also served as a Eucharist Minister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Consi- dine Sr.; brothers, Thomas, Michael, John, Francis, Robert, Mark, Eugene; and sisters, Mar- garet Thomas, Mary Lyons, Kath- leen Monohan and Elizabeth Frank. Surviving are her sons, Thomas Jr., Altoona; Patrick W., Jeffer- son, N.C.; Bob; Jack and Jim, all of Dallas; daughters, Eileen Sherin, Great Falls, Va.; Joan Considine, Hanover; Ann Murtagh, Manteno, Ill.; 15 grand- children; two great-grandchil- dren, and a brother, Joseph Far- rell, Mountain Top.
