10 Dallas Post Dallas, PA ' Thursday, October 3, 2002 Lehman (continued from page 9) Langan. And although there have been numerous mistakes, he feels the team is really im- proving. Of his players’ attitudes he says, “the kids are still up and that’s the bottom line.” This season, there was a change in league alignment, al- lowing for some of the more tra- ditional rivals to meet each other. Langan is happy with the new setup and enjoys playing against schools like GAR, Nanticoke and Hanover again. “[We] develop some good rivalries and it’s really good to have those,” he said. Meyers runs away to 38-21 win From staff reports LEHMAN TWP. — A couple of big plays weren't enough Satur- day, as Meyers jumped out to a 14-0 lead and kept on scoring to hand Lake-Lehman a 38-21 homecoming weekend loss. Dave Harris, who rushed for 106 yards on 22 carries, ripped off a 62-yard run to set up his own 5-yard touchdown for the Black Knights’ first points. After Meyers responded to go up 21-7, Brandon Burkhardt hit Jim Mahon with a 46-yard pass on a halfback option and Harris plowed his way in from 9 yards out to make it 21-14 with 1:38 remaining in the first half. Lake-Lehman added a late touchdown on a 20-yard pass from backup quarterback Josh Cragle to Mahon. Despite the loss and the slow start to the season, Black Knights head coach Bob Langan is staying optimistic. “Obviously we had trouble stopping them,” Langan said. “They have an awful lot of offen- sive weapons. They have some very strong and fast players. But we're improving each week. Last year we were 0-5 and we won three in row. This thing will eventually turn itself around. We just have to stay positive.” POST PHOTOS/ JIM PHILLIPS Dave Strenfel shook off a would-be Mey- ers tackler and looked upfield for running room.
