Music will be by Betty, Tom and Nathan Druckenmiller. Contra dancing involves mix- ing with other dancers as each couple performs a short routine with another couple before pro- gressing onto a new couple and repeating the sequence. Caller Greg Frock will teach a different routine before each dance, and will “walk through” the dance while explaining it. Frock, from the Baltimore area, has been calling at dances and festivals since 1992. Contra dancing is moderately aerobic, but all figures can be accomplished with a walking step. No partner or previous ex- perience is necessary, dances are taught and called. New guests should have no prob- and all: lem learning the basics of the contra moves, many of which are borrowed from square dancing and ballroom dancing. The Chicory house is an all- volunteer non-profit coffeehouse, sponsoring folk music and dance in the Wyoming Valley. Admis- sion to the dance is $6 for adults and $15 for families.
