Poultry ban lifted in time for fair Donna Cupinski, Luzerne County Fair chairman recently an- nounced that The Department of Agriculture has lifted the ban on Poultry and Eggs Exhibits, and can now accept entries into the fair for the poultry and eggs classes. Exhibitors should follow all rules, regulations and classes as pub- lished in the 2002 Luzerne County Premium Guide. Thresholds program seeks Volunteers The “Threshold” program at Chase Prison is seeking volunteers for the program that begins in September. Threshold is a decision-making program that is taught to inmates at the correctional facility in Dallas who are about to be released. The Threshold course is taught by volunteers, on a one-to-one basis over a period of nine weeks. The only prerequisite to becoming a vol- unteer is to be a caring person who wants to reach out to someone about to make a new beginning.
