Robbins (continued from page 9) But Robbins feels he is ready, and can relate Harris's advice to the Wilkes-Barre Triathlon, where much of the same can be seen. “The Wilkes-Barre Triathlon is not easy. It is always challeng- ing,” said Robbins. “I've been on quite a few cycling courses, and this one is challenging. It always seems to catch you at the most inopportune times.” Robbins said where most triathlons are won or lost on the run, Wilkes-Barre is won or lost on the bike. “You have to make sure not to overextend yourself for the run,” he said. “If you don’t pace your- self on the bike, you can really hurt yourself on the run.” But although Robbins is worn from the Ironman distances of Ironman U.S.A., he will still compete in the Back Mountain this weekend with the hopes of defending his title of top local finisher. “I just want to run a solid race and not get injured,” Robbins said. “I will go as hard as my body will let me, but with only five or six days of rest after Lake Placid, it's going to be pretty tough. Everything will depend on how I feel at the end of the week.” But if his enthusiasm and confidence are a sign, Robbins will most definitely be ready.
