PNC Bank donates to Back Mountain Food Pantry Peter F. Curtin of PNC Bank recently presented a check for $2,500 to the Back Mountain Ministerium, from the PNC Foundation. The funds represent the bank’s support for the construction and expan- sion of the Back Mountain Food Pantry to be relocated to Trucksville United Methodist Church in 2003. Haines completes basic training Marine Corps Pfc, Casey C. Haines, son of Patty L. Haines of 170 Main St., Dallas, and James D. Haines of 5 Fox Hollow Drive, Dallas, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island. S.C. Haines successfully completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge new marine recruits both physically and mentally. Haines is a 1999 graduate of Dallas High School, and joined the Marine Corps in September 2001. BAILEY May 22 at 6 p.m. The pro- gram includes a presentation by Ron Bailey, Director of the Lan- caster County Planning Com- mission, entitled “Smart Growth for Pennsylvania.” NBLT will also honor retired Pennsylvania State Forester Manny Gordon with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his many contribu- tions to the great outdoors in Northeastern PA. Tom Robinson is dinner chairman and will be the Master of Ceremonies. Ronald T. Bailey is a charter member of the American Insti- tute of Certified Planners. Since 1988, he has worked in Lancast- er County to build a broad- based coalition of public, pri- vate, and non-profit sectors to retain the unique character of the region. He will share his vi- sion of smart growth and some of his methods for accomplish- ing that goal. Dinner will be served family style with a vegetarian option available. Dress is business ca- sual. There will also be a silent auction featuring wildlife art and other interesting items during the initial reception (6-6:30 p.m.) with winners announced later in the evening. The pro- ceeds of the dinner will benefit the North Branch Land Trust and its many projects to en- hance the quality of life in this area. The cost is $35 per person. Noxen Bible Baptist Church to host Evangelist Lin Croxton The Noxen Bible Baptist Church on Route 29N in Noxen will be hosting Evangelist Lin Croxton on Sunday May 19 through May 22.
