Wyoming Valley Mo- tors of Kingston will sponsor the Hole-in-One prize, a 2002 Buick Rendezvous. A shotgun start is slated for 10 a.m. Friday, May 10 at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Course in Mountaintop. The proceeds will benefit the Wyoming Seminary Alumni Scholarship Fund, which provides finan- cial aid each year to qualified students. Joe Kaiser had a dou- ble and a single and Cody Plesnar had a double for the winners. Josh Shaver had two hits for the Yankees. Shaver and Meyer Messinger combined to strike out 10 batters. Astros 13, Phillies 9 Mike Lipski went two for three with a double and Dan Taroli smacked a double to power the Astros. Lipski and Taroli com- bined to strike out eight Phillies. Billy Holena singled and doubled for the Phillies while teammates Tyler Barrall and Carson Baker each collected a double. Holena and Hunter Englehardt fanned eight Astro hitters. Indians 8, Pirates 5 Dave Fetchko, Darius Fetchko and Nick Frey each had two hits to lead the Indians’ offense. Dave Fetchko tossed a complete game, striking out twelve, while Frey sparked the defense with a great catch in rightfield. Scott Summa and Jayme Bronson ¥ each doubled for the Pirates. Tom Horn struck out eight Indi- ans. ! Orioles 4, Yankees 2 Steve Meskers and Eric Tuck- er combined for eleven strike- outs in pitching the Orioles to victory. Josh Clay led the offense with two hits. Meyer Messinger and Josh Shaver each had two hits for the Yankees. Reds 8, Cardinals 5 Jordan Jiunta collected a dou- ble, two singles and four RBIs for the Reds. Joe Bevevino smashed two doubles and struck out five Cardinal batters. Reds 8, Dodgers 4 Mike Prater blasted two home runs, including a grand slam, as the Reds collected their second victory of the week. Tom Perry tossed a complete game, striking out seven, to get the win. The Reds ended the game and a Dodger threat with a home-to- first double play. Mike Sesson fanned five Reds in a losing cause. Astros 8, Giants 4 Kyle Arnaud went four for four with a double to lead the Astros. Dan Taroli and Mike Lipski each contributed two hits and Brian Pepperling blasted a triple for the winners. Lipski and Taroli combined to strike out eight Gi- ants. Doug Harding and James Sutton each collected a double and a single for the losers. Hard- ing fanned nine Astros. Rangers 13, Tigers 2 Robin Crossley, Josh Backes and Matt Ruch each smacked four hits to power the Rangers’ offense. Crossley’s hits were all doubles. Mike Supczenski added three hits to the attack. Kevin Engler struck out seven in toss- ing a four-inning one-hitter. Indians 9, Orioles 8 Kevin Pierce had a double and two singles while teammates Darius Fetchko, Brandon Re- ichart and Jordy Thimot each collected two hits, including a Thimot double, as the Indians won their second game of the week. Fetchko struck out twelve in picking up the complete game victory. Eric Tucker led the way for the Orioles with a homer, double, single and four RBIs. Ryan Urzen and Steve Meskers each had two hits for the losers. Cardinals 13, Pirates 1 Mark Covert went four for four with two doubles and two sin- gles to lead the Cards. Pat Mur- ray, who struck out four Pirates, also tripled and singled for the winners. MAJOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL Dodgers 13, Harveys Lake | 0 Rachel Miller struck out ten in tossing a four-inning no-hitter for the Dodgers.
