The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Dallas, PA Thursday, April 18, 2002 DMS Spirit of Community awards winners Rebecca Vodzak and Michael Gergel were recently announced as winners of the Prudential Spirit of Community Award at a recent Dallas Middle School assembly. The award is an annual competition open to all students across the country, and recognizes students for their dedication and commitment to volunteerism. Rebecca, an eighth grade student, was honored for her many hours of volunteer work at the Meadows Nursing Home, Dallas. Michael, a seventh grade student, has demonstrated outstanding commitment to community service by working at the Veteran's Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. Rebecca is the daughter of John and Ann Vodzak, Dallas, and Michael is the son of George and Donna Gergel, Shavertown.
