Tues- day, other members of the club will begin the first round of the Knowledge Bowl competition against heavy academic compe- tition. “We stand up very well against everyone else,” Wega said. Freshman Jered Weinstock, first place winner in the media category in the History Day com- petition, gave a moving Power Point presentation to the board of his media project, “Children of Pedro Pan.” Dallas area schools will be ad- ministering the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) and the Terra Nova Achievement tests in April. The testing schedule starts on April 8 and continues through April 25. Please call the individual schools for further information. The Senior High School will be holding parent conferences on April 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Parent conferences will be held at the Middle School on April 16 and Wpycallis Elementary on April 15 with the P.T.O. holding a bake sale at the same time. Michael Balutanski was ap- pointed as head girls’ tennis coach for the 2002-03 school year. Donald Hosey and Earl Harris were appointed as assis- tant track coach and volunteer assistant baseball coach, re- spectively, for the 2001-02 school year. The top five finishers in each competition go to the state finals. The students will spend three days in Seven Springs. In addi- tion to competing in their indi- vidual events, they will attend a variety of business related work- shops with special guest speak- ers.
