This breakfast will benefit the Grad 2002 Lock-In Night planned for the senior class and has become one of the largest events for the PTSO. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, applesauce and choice of beverage. Cost for tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children seven-years-old and under. Walk-ins are welcome. This year’s breakfast will coincide with a flea market on the school’s grounds, rain or shine, and will offer a huge selection of items. Programs in new media at Misericordia College Misericordia is now of- fering three new credit-bearing certificate programs in the area of New Media to meet the growing demand for technology education and training for individuals and business. These 15-month programs in- clude certificates in E-Business, Internet Technology and Multi- media. Courses are structured a familiar 14-week semesters. Some courses are a combination of online and classroom study. This unique combination of “prick and click” is designed to provide comprehensive education and training for this emerging in- dustry. Course scheduling is also designed to be adult learner friendly, featuring evening and weekend sessions. “Our e-business certificate is designed to show students how to migrate traditional business practices into the Internet mar- ketplace,” says Todd Perez, New Media program coordinator. “Af- ter completing our Internet and multimedia certificates, success- ful students will be able to com- pose and manipulate front-end graphics for digital media and understand the importance of user interface design as well as create media rich presentations for digital media.” All of the College Misericordia New Media courses are credit bearing and can be applied to- ward a degree if the student chooses to do so. The program is partially funded by a '“Link-to-Learn” Technology Education Grant from the Com- monwealth of Pennsylvania. Beginning on Monday, April 8, all sixth, seventh and eighth grade stu- dents will be taking a variety of assessments that will provide vital information for the teach- ers, administrators, parents and students about what and how well the students are learning. It is important that all students do their very best on these tests. Calculators, dictionaries and thesauruses are permitted on several parts of the tests. Stu- dents are strongly encouraged to bring these items to school for use during the testing peri- od. In addition, parents guardians are an integral part of this assessment process and can help by ensuring that their children are well rested, well nourished and attend school each day during the testing pe- riod. All tests will be given from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. and students will attend all of their regularly and . scheduled classes after the tests each day.
