Baked pork Luzerne Conservation District to hold Annual Seedling Sale The Luzerne Conservation Dis- trict is offering a variety of tree and shrub seedlings for sale this ) spring. So as not to compete with local nurseries and garden " centers, the district will be offer- ing a selection of plant materials that are either native to the Back Mountain or are of conservation value, such as food and cover for wildlife, wind or solar protection, foliage or flower color, erosion control or timber value. A wildflower seed mix is also available form the Luzerne Con- servation District. All proceeds from the Luzerne Conservation District's seedling - sale will benefit the District's en- vironmental education efforts. These include the Luzerne Coun- ty Envirothon, Conservation Field Days and various other ed- ucational programs. Orders are being accepted now through March 27. Only in The Dallas Post The Jackson Township Volun- teer Fire Department would like to remind residents and proper- ty owners that the 2002 Annual Fund Drive is now under way. The goal for this year is 57 per- cent participation with a dollar raised amount of $21,000. The 2001 drive raised $18,000 with 52 percent participation. The fund drive is the major source of revenue for the fire department. Residents may send donations to Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department, 1160 Chase Road, Shavertown, 18708.
