Kingston Township Plan- ning Commission with Vice Chairman Richard Morgan pre- siding, held the public hearing in the municipal building. The memory of the late John honored when the John G. Rug- gles Sr. Memorial Scoreboard was dedicated in Wyoming Sem- inary’s gymnasium. After 10 years as a Kingston Township officer, Paul Sabol be- gan to assume duties as the new Chief of Police after the death of Chief Herbert Updyke. Chief Sabol had been active in com- munity affairs for a number of years. 20 Years Ago - January 27, 1982 JACKSON FIRE COMPANY READY FOR 33RD YEAR About 75 persons attended the joint installation of officers dinner at the Jackson Township Fire Hall when officers of the Jackson Township Volunteer Firemen, its Ladies Auxiliary, and the Jackson Township Vol- unteer Ambulance Corps were installed. Dennis Downing, son of the late Dennis Downing, sr., who was the first fire chief of the Jackson Township volunteer Fire Company in the late 1940's served as master of ceremonies. Lake-Lehman Lady Knights Tracy Turner scored her 1,000 point in the early part of a Knights-GAR game. She is the daughter of Mrs. Ted Kyttle. Back Mountain Wrestling Club wrestlers did well in the second annual Highesville Spar- tan Wrestling Tournament. Eighteen wrestlers from the Back Mountain entered the competition and 14 boys brought home awards. Exhibition to include local artists Several local members of a statewide plein air art group will be among approximately 40 artists to exhibit their produced-on-lo- cation artwork at the Bloomsburg gallery, the historic “Barn at Boone's Dam.” The exhibit of the artwork is entitled, “Pennsylvania En Plein Air Paints Pennsylvania.” It will include drawings and painting ° produced in a variety of media. Subjects include; many of the barns, valleys and vistas that have attracted artists to Pennsyl- vania scenes for centuries. Plein air artists work outside on loca- tion, in all kinds of weather, temperature and social conditions. The juried exhibit will include works by: Lowry Puckey, Dal- las; Sue Hand, Dallas; Diane Levandoski, Dallas; Liz Plashinski, Shavertown, Ann Searfoss, Carverton; Laura Vodzak, Dallas. The public is invited to attend an opening reception from 7-9 p.m. on February lst to view the exhibit and meet the artists and special guests and tour the historic barn which once be- longed to internationally recognized artist David Armstrong.
