Cuscela, 68, of Shrine View, Dallas, died Thursday Jan. 10, 2002 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born March 3, 1933 in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Frank and Gilda (Marino) Cuscela. He attended local schools and earned a bachelor of science degree in economics from Wilkes Univer- sity in 1957. He was a busi- ness executive in the Wyoming Valley and co-founder of Jew- elcor Inc. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a trustee of Wilkes University and chair- "man of its Physical Facilities Committee, where the new student center dining room was named for his parents. He co-founded the First Collegiate Chapter of the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the board of direc- tors of First Union Bank- Northeastern Region and was active with numerous national and local civic, educational and charitable institutions. He was a member of the Huntsville Golf Club, Old March Golf Club, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and the Pine Tree Golf Club, Boynton Beach, Fla. He also was a member of the Westmoreland Club and former board mem- ber of the F.M. Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Lee Wilcox; daughters, Susan Carl son, Larchmont, N.Y.; and Kristin Siano, New York City; one granddaughter; sister, Agnes Hummel, Wilkes-Barre; and brothers, Robert, Wilkes- Barre; and Daniel, Old Forge; and several nieces and nephews.Memorial donations may be made to St. Therese's Church, Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown, 18708. Born May 17, 1945, in Pueblo, Colo., he was the son of the late James and Madlyn (Nielson) Gordon. Howe, 54, of RR 3, Dallas, formerly of Harding, Exeter Township, and Groton, Conn., died Wednesday Jan. 2, 2002 at his home. Born June 18, 1947 in Syra- cuse, N.Y., he was a son of He- len (Spahalski) Howe, Jenkins Township, and the late Philip Howe. He was a 1964 graduate of West Pittston High School and graduate of the Adminis- tration/Supervision Program at Southern Connecticut Uni- versity, New Haven, Conn. He received a bachelor of arts de- gree in history from Wilkes College, and MAT degree from Connecticut College and was a Taft fellow of Taft Institute, Connecticut College, both of New London, Conn. He was an adjunct instruc- tor of American history and western civilization and gov- ernment at Luzerne County Community College and Col- lege Misericordia. He also was an athletics director at College Misericordia. He was a middle school teacher of American history and geography in Tunkhannock and high school teacher of American history, American studies, European history and sociology and di- rector of athletics at Fitch Se- nior High School, Groton. He was a member of Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Cen- ter Moreland. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, An- thony Padrazis. Surviving are his son, John, at home; daughter, Jennifer, at home; brothers, Philip, Al- lentown; and Richard, Chase, Jackson Township; maternal grandmother, Mary Spahalski, Pittston; and several aunts and uncles. Kravitz, 80, of Loy- alville, died Thursday Jan. 10, 2002 at Dorrance Manor, Kingston. Born in Larksville, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Catherine (Blazik) Kravitz. He attended the Larksville schools. Before retiring, he was a dye and chemical mixer for the for- mer Natona Mills, Dallas. Born March 8, 1906 in Ross Township, she was a daughter of the late Albert H. and Eva (Lewis) Holcomb. She did domestic work in the Sweet Valley area. She was a member of the Berwick Christ- ian Church. She was a resident of Berwick since 1981 and pre- viously lived in Ross Township for 75 years in the same house. She was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus L.; and sisters, Catherine Culver and Eliza Varner. Surviving are her sisters, Nell H. Cryder, with whom she resided; and numerous nieces and nephews.
