She was a seamstress in many local dress factories. She was a mem- ber of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and the Orange United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; and sister, Vivian Gavek. PAUL YUKOVICH SR. Son lives in Dallas Paul G. Vukovich Sr., 74; of Scott Street, Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born Nov. 12, 1926 in Min- nesota, he was a son of the late George and Meliciacq (Vujovich)cq Vukovich. He worked for InterMetro Industries for 35 years, retiring in 1991. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Parsons Veter- ans of Foreign Wars Post 6227. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Mattey, Sophie Griffiths and Rosalie Marks. GEORGE EVANICH Shavertown resident George John Evanich, of Oak Drive, = Shavertown, Kingston Township, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001 at the Hospice Unit of Mer- cy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Milnesville, he was the son of the late Michael and Julia Sad- lock Evanich. He was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Kingston. Before retir- ing, he was employed by Muskin Manufacturing, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rudolph and Henry; sisters, Julia, Susan, Anna, He- len and Mary.
