Levinson of Dallas, was named to the dean’s list at Bates College as a result of his scholastic standing during the second semester of the 2000-01 academic year. Levinson, a first- year student, is the son of Howard and Susan Levinson, Dallas. A member of the Bates Representative Assembly, the college's student government, Levinson is a 2000 graduate of Dallas High School. Carroll receives scholarship Timothy Carroll II, son of Mayor and Mrs. Timothy Car- roll, Sr., was the proud recipi- ent of the Mayors 2001 Schol- arship Award, awarded by the Association of Mayors of the Boroughs of Pennsylvania. Jim and his family traveled to the Hershey Convention Center to receive the award among guest speaker George Stephanopolis and 900 plus Borough Mayors and elected officials. Timothy has also been award- ed the Moreau Scholarship from Kings College where he has been accepted into the Mc- Gowan Business Program for business accounting. Tim graduated in June from Bishop O'Reilly High School and was named a four year member of the National Honors Society and Who's Who Among High School Students. At grad- uation, Tim received the Presi- dents Award of Educational Ex- cellence. He is an active member of Dallas Fire and Ambulance and is attending E.M.T. classes to further his volunteer services. Eby attends medical leadership forum Elizabeth Eby, Dallas, was ac- cepted to attend the National Youth Leader- ship Forum on Medicine (NYLF/MED), which took place in San Francisco, Calif. from ‘Jun. 24 to Jul. 3, NYLF/MED is a career develop- ment program for high school students who demonstrate aca- demic excellence, leadership po-. tential and an interest in medi- cine. Eby joined 350 other high school students from around the country. In addition to site visits to cutting-edge medical schools and clinical facilities, Eby heard from and had the op- portunity to interact with lead- ers within the medical field. Students had up-close personal contact . with physicians, sur- geons, researchers, scientists and medical educators as they got behind the scenes to view these professionals at work.
