Gallagher, 92, of Corbettsville, 'N.Y., died Friday, July 13, 2001 at her daughter's home. She was born July 26, 1908, at Harveys Lake. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Kirkwood, Kirkwood, N.Y., and Greenman Senior Citi- zens Center, Kirkwood, until 1994. Born Oct. 6, 1916, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Emily Corgan Conroy. She resided in New York City for many years, where she worked as a receptionist for the American Geographic Society and was an artist. She was a member of Holy Saviour Parish, East End section of Wilkes-Barre, and the Wyoming Valley Art League. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Marcus and Daniel Conroy. He taught for several years and then was principal - of Foster Township High School, Foster Township In- termediate School, Daniel Coxe Memorial Elementary School and the Freeland Elementary School, Hazleton Area School District. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a master sergeant. He attained a Silver Star, Good Conduct Medal, Euro- pean-African-Middle Eastern Ser- vice Medal with four Bronze Star Medals and a Bronze Arrowhead. He was a member of St. Francis Church, Nanticoke, life member of many education organizations, president of the Rural Health Corp. of Northeast Pennsylvania and legislative chairman of the Pennsylvania Association of Sec- ondary School Principals.
