The 8.1 mile foot race around scenic Harveys Lake took place Sat- urday morning starting at Grotto Pizza. The course consisted of one lap clockwise around Harveys Lake. Mostly flat terrain and shaded, the runners’ biggest obstacle of the day was soggy feet. In 1999, the Wyoming Valley Striders and the members of Our Lady of Victory Church formed a coalition to continue one of the most successful road races in the area. In addition to the traditional race around the lake, a half mile fun race was added for children up to 14 years of age. Matt Rosetti, on New York, was the first male to cross the finish line. The first female to cross the finish line was Heidi Wolfsberger, Moosic.
