Win- ter, Shavertown; % O’Hara leads confirmation class in charitable project Andrew O’Hara, representing the confirmation class of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, raised $775 worth of gift certificates for needy families with children. Andrew and his classmates participated in the annual Souper Bowl of Caring program to raise money to buy the gift certificates. The certificates will be given to families participating in CEO Employ- Emelett receives numerous art awards Crystal Emelett, Lake Silkworth, returned home from the Pennsylva- nia/New Jersey Student Convention for Accelerated Christian Edu- cation with numerous art awards. Over 500 students from over 50 schools from two states participated in the three-day event. Crystal, a Muhlenburg Christian Academy senior won first place in acrylic, and pastel categories. She placed second in oil, woodworking and third in metalworking. She also received three other awards in non art categories. Crystal has studied art for six years at Sue Hand’s Imagery, Dallas. For the past year, she has also been employed as an Imagery teaching assistant and this summer she will serve as a summer in- tern and an instructor at the Imagery. She will pursue a degree in art education at Kutztown University in September. Crystal is the daughter of Leonard and Evelyn Emelett, Lake Silkworth. Senior Kasey Wilczynski, and junior Gregory Piazza, have proven to be exceptional clarinetists. Kasey and Greg were chosen from students in eleven states to per- form in the All-Eastern Honors Band. Kasey and Greg were also selected for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All State Band.
