Hendricks, a former Lehman resident and supervising principal of Lehman Township Schools for five years, died April 9, 2001 in Reading Hospital. In addition to his work in the schools, he took an active leader- ship in community life. He was president of Lehman Volunteer Fire Company, vice president of Back Mountain Memorial Library Association, and teacher of the men’s Bible class at Lehman methodist Church. He was cho- sen ‘Man of the Year’ in the Back Mountain Area by the vote of civic, fraternal service and church groups. He was general chairman of Lehman Horse Show for two years. During his years as principal, the school cafeteria, considered one of the best in the state at Josephine Barbacci Former owner of the West Wyoming Hotel and The Pine Inn Josephine Ruth Barbacci, of the Carverton section of Kingston Township, died Wednesday at home. Born Jan. 25, 1912, in Miners Mills, Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late John and Augusta Toloczko. Before retir- ing, she was self-employed at Barbacci Grove and owned the West Wyoming Hotel and the Long Pine Inn. She was a mem- ber of St. Frances Cabrini Church, Carverton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julio; sisters, Vio- let Mercadante, Vicki Toloczko, Alice Ponicki, Anna Ivan, Bertha Linski and Margaret Mooney; and brothers, Anthony and Bernard. Surviving are her daughters, Marie Voitek and Joan Brunges, ~ both of Carverton; seven grand- children, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Hen- dricks; sister, Gwen Miller; seven grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren. He was prede- ceased by a daughter, Priscilla Strawbridge. Marguerite Williams Member of Ruggles United Methodist Church Marguerite H. Williams, 84, for- merly of Ruggles, Lake Township, died Tuesday at the Pleasant View Retirement Community, Man- heim. Born Aug. 31, 1916, in Ruggles, she was a daughter of the late Ja- cob and Olive (Schooley) Traver. She was a teacher's aide for handicapped children in Luzerne County for 15 years, retiring 15 years ago. She was a member of the Ruggles United Methodist Church and its Women's Society. She was also an honorary mem- ber of the Harveys Lake Women's Service Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S., Sr.; son, Kenneth W.; brothers, Wallace, Frank and Thomas Traver; and sisters, Ada Gordon and Bertha Husted. Surviving are her sons, Charles S., Jr., Sweet Valley, Ross Town- ship; and Richard A., Middletown, Del.; daughter, Karen J. Doutt, Columbia; nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson; and sister, Doris Johnson, Rising Sun, Md.
