Ladies Auxiliary, Fire Department and Ambu- lance Association held a recognition dinner as a thank you to vol- unteers who give so freely of themselves to protect. Volunteers from Kingston Twp. EMS, Lake Silkworth, Lehman Twp., Sweet Valley and Franklin Northmoreland were in attendance. It was the donations from several Back Mountain businesses which made the dinner possible. For 7 years in a row, parishioners from both churches meet weekly for a simple meal of soup and bread, scripture and fellowship during Lent. Huntsville United Methodist women meet The United Methodist women of Huntsville will have a meeting on Tuesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. Mrs. Cindy Evans will have the program and refreshments. Hospice St. John volunteer training Hospice care is compassionate care that provides comfort and support for patients and their families during the final stages of a terminal illness. Volunteer training will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Shavertown. It will run for five consecutive Wednesdays, begin- ning April 11 and concluding May 9, from 12 to 2 p.m. Volun- teers visit terminally ill patients in their homes, read to them, grocery shop or run errands. Subscriptions are very important to operate a basic life support ambulance and rescue unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Last year this Association responded to over 400 emergencies.
