For more information, call 331-2422. 20th Annual Rossetti Art Exhibit opens March 4 The public is invited to the opening reception of the 20th Annual Suzanne Maria Rossetti Memorial Juried Art show on Sunday, March 4 from 1-4 p.m. at the MacDonald Art Gallery, College Misericordia, Dallas. An awards ceremony will follow in Walsh Auditorium at 4 p.m. The contest was made available to any 7th through 12th grade student who resides in, or attends any public, private, or parochial school with- in the school districts of Dallas, Lehman, Tunkhannock, or Northwest, or any 7th-12th grade students who study art with any private instructor teaching within those areas. Each student was able to submit a total of three entries. Over 900 entries were judged separately on each grade level in a variety of categories including pencil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic, oil, ink, scratchboard, mixed media, fibers, photography, prints, and miniature drawings and paintings. Ribbons will be awarded in 12 different categories on each separate grade level by two panels of three judges each. In addition, a separate awards jury awarded $2,000 in community-sponsored awards. Joe and Sue Hand of Dallas sponsor the Suzanne Maria Rossetti Memorial Juried Art Contest in memory of the daughter of Louise and the late Peter Rossetti of Saugus, MA. Louise Rossetti and several family members will be on hand to meet the award winners. The exhibit of winning art works will continue March 13 through March 29 at the MacDonald Art Gallery, College Misericordia.
