Boys Bas- ketball Team beat St. Mary's of Wilkes- Barre, 44-36. The GOH Team was led by Chris DeRojas 21 pts. and B. Delaney 12 pts. ®, Varsity GOH Team beat the St. ary’s Team 59-32. The GOH Team was led by R. Bauer 14 pts. and Mike DeRojas 10 pts, Greg Suchocki 8 pts. annual Patrick Foley made the game-win- ning shot with under a minute to play as Gate Of Heaven won the DYB 7th Grade tournament with a 43-41 victory over Dallas. Foley finished with 7 points while Sean McAndrew added 4. Ben Thomas led Dallas with 14 points while Jesse Swartwood, Robbie Tomko, and J.J. Durr played excellent defense. Gate Of Heaven was coached by Tom Foley while Dallas was coached by Tom Swartwood. In other 7th grade action, Lehman defeated Avoca 35-29, while Gate of Heaven defeated Lehman 32-24. Mike Clemente led Gate of Heaven with 13 points while Alan Sheridan scored 8 for Lehman. Earlier in the tournament, Gate of Heaven edged Dallas 34-30. Bobby Lenahan led Dallas with 17 points while Brian Felechia led the re- bounding. Dallas later defeated Avoca 52-44 as Mike Wyberski scored 10 points. Dallas advanced to the final with a 56-44 win over Lehman. Chris Parrish scored 10 points for Dallas while Nick Samanas added 9. Old Forge tops Dallas35-32 for 8th grade title Old Forge won the 8th Grade Tour- nament with a come-from-behind 35- 32 win over Dallas. Eric Samanas led Dallas with 6 points while Ryan Marascio and John Paul Parulski added 3 each. Dallas is coached by George Gracely. Old Forge also defeat- ed Dallas earlier in the tournament 51- 38. Old Forge opened the tournament with a 65-38 win over Lehman. In the. first game, Dallas edged Northwest 76-66. Dallas was led by Gate Of Heaven, Old Forge win DYB tournament Jimmy Schwerdtman and Matt Daube with 13 points each. D.J Molino added 9 and Curtis Montz 6. Northwest was led by Tracy Blaine with a game-high 28 points. Northwest was ‘eliminated with a 58-41 loss to Lehman, led by Matt Shiskowski with 19 points. In the most dramatic game of the tournament, Dallas erased an eight point lead with 3 minutes to play to defeat Lehman 52-47. Cooper totaled 385.90 points in one of her better perfor- mances of the season. She also quali- fied for states last year when she fin- ished second place. The state meet will be held March 8-10 at Penn State Uni- versity in State College. Arie Kankuyk of Dallas was third on the boys’ side. WRESTLING Meyers 66, Dallas 4 Meyers won 12 of the 13 matches in dismantling the Mountaineer wrestlers last Wednesday. Senior Lewis Spurlin had the only Dallas victory. He won by major decision at 145 pounds. Pirates split weekend games Drew Slocum stopped 19 shots on goal to preserve a 2-1 win for the Pocono Pirates Squirt Black team over the Valley Forge Colonials Sunday. Alex Slocum picked up an assist on the win- ning goal. The win offset a 6-1 loss to the Colo- nials on Saturday. In that game, Alex Slocum scored the Pirates’ only goal.
