Jay Carroll had one of his best offensive games of the season, scoring 23 points in all to lead the Mounts in points. Chuck Suppon was the only other Dal- las player to reach double fig- ures, finishing with 11 points and several key rebounds and blocked shots in the paint un- derneath. Blake Saba was right behind with nine points. Wyoming Area 71, Lake-Lehman 42 Wyoming Area limited the Black Knights to 16 points of of- fense in the first half en route to a 29-point win in conference play. Matt Dunn had another ef- fective performance, scoring 16 points and grabbing multiple re- bounds off the glass. Joe Walko also finished in double digits with ten points. Dusty Kapson was the only other Knight to make multiple field goals. His night ended with six points. Wyoming Area 60, Dallas 57 Wyoming Area remained in a first-place tie atop the confer- ence standings in knocking off Dallas Friday night at Dallas High School. The Warriors raced out to an 18-8 lead with one minute remaining in the first period. Dallas was able to rally to the point where the deficit was just 2 at halftime. With four minutes left Dallas had built a 4-point lead but could not hold on, as the ons managed just five points in those final four minutes. Chuck Suppon lead the team in scoring with 16 points, followed by Jay Carroll with 13. Nanticoke 59, Lake-Lehman 48 Joe Walkois 23 points ac- counted for nearly half of the Knightsi total in a loss at Nanti- coke Friday night. Jared Sad- owski was next with 12 points in ne of his best performances of the season. Matt Dunn added eight points. The third quarter was crucial to the Trojansi suc- cess, as they extended their lead by 7 points in that period alone. GIRLS BASKETBALL Lehman runs past Hanover The Lady Knights clinched second seed in the Division II playoffs by whipping Hanover 52-31 Monday night. Lehman jumped out to a six-point first quarter lead, extended it to 10 at the half and cruised to th win. Christine Hudak led a balanced Knights scoring attack with 11 points. She was followed by Lisa Wasser with 9 and Danielle Kern and Kari Maskalis with 8 apiece. Maskalis had two 3-point goals @ nd Hudak canned one. Lehman 53, Wyoming Area 46 A balanced scoring attack was crucial in the Lehman win over Wyoming Area in girlsi play last week. Danielle Kern was tops in scoring with 19 points despite struggling from the foul line. Kieran Lucarino was next with @ ent points. Right behind her "was a trio of girls with seven points. They included Lisa Wasser, Gina Coombs, and Kari Maskalis. Dallas 51, Crestwood 47 A 15-8 margin in the third quarter gave Dallas its second win of the season over Crest- wood, this time a hardfought 4- point win. Freshmen Shannon omas and Meredith Lacey ombined to scored 30 points and each shared the spotlight by scoring 15 each. Rosalyn Wen- tko and Crystal Heffner each contributed six points to the to- tal of 51. It was tied at 20 points apiece at the end of the third quarter but Eye Care played great defense to hold on to a 26-22 win over Hospice Community Lehman girls drop low-scoring matchup Lake-Lehman couldn’t hold on to a 3-point lead going into the fourth quarter against Nanticoke, and ended up losing 41-40. Mike Hazleton played outstanding de- fense along with very key re- bounds down the stretch to help assure the win.
