South Mountain Land Ass'n meeting Jan. 12 The South Mountain Land Association will hold its monthly meeting ondJan. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Noxen-Monroe Sportsmans Club on Market St. in Noxen. Loyalville UMC to hold dinner/bake sale The Loyalville United Methodist Church will be holding a beef pot roast dinner and bake sale at the church on Saturday, Jan. 13. Serving time will be from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Cost is $6.50 for adults, $3.25 for children 12 and under. There will be homemade pies, and take-outs are available; call 477-3521. Dallas Lions Club joins Mayors Club Dallas mayor Tim Carroll was a guest of the Dallas Lions Club at a recent meeting held at the Castle Inn. Mayor Carroll gave an update on the happenings in the borough and spoke about his pet project, the "Dallas Mayor's Club." Membership dues are being used to sponsor worthwhile projects which cannot be funded with taxes, but nevertheless are important for the overall well-being of the borough. Harveys Lake 911 addressing system meeting There will be a town meeting for Lakeside Drive, Harveys Lake residents concerning the 911 addressing system on Friday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. in the Harveys Lake Municipal Building on Route 415 at Sunset. Movie screening at Dallas Baptist Church The Dallas Baptist Church, located on Rte. 415, will be showing the movie "Left Behind" at the church on Sunday evening, Jan. 21. The next meeting of the UMC Women will be on Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. Shavertown UMC "Shoebox" program The children of the Adventures in Faith Sunday school program at Shavertown United Methodist Church participated in a "Shoebox Project” for the children at the McAuley House in Plymouth. The children filled 36 shoeboxes with toiletries, books, personal items and toys for children of all ages. The boxes were then wrapped and marked for a boy or girl of the appropriate age. Shavertown Fire Co.'s video still available The Shavertown Fire Co.'s 75th- anniversary souvenir video, which is full of historic information and pictures, is still available. The video details the early his- tory and development of the fire company, Shavertown, local schools, sports programs, and recent development.
