The workshop was offered as a part of a joint effort between the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the Penn State Cooperative Extension to increase the amount of waste that is recycled. The Science Club is helping to reach the state's goal of 35% waste recycling by maintaining on-site compost bin and an aluminum can recycling program.
