Nahas, died Nov. 11, 2000 at Hospice Community Care Inpa- tient Unit, Mercy Hospital, after lengthy illness. Born Aug. 20, 1954, in King- ston, she was a daughter of Hugh and Marilyn (LLewellyn) Jones. She was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West class of 1972 and Pennsylvania State University. She was a member of Dr. Edwards Memorial Congrega- tional Church of Edwardsville and attended St. Mary Antiochian Or- thodox Church, Wilkes-Barre. Surviving in addition to her parents, is her husband of 17 years, George; son, Herbert George, and daughter Marilyn Alice, both at home; sister, Mrs. Janet M. Born March 18, 1956, in Pottstown, he was the son of Paul F. and Josephine "Josie" Murgia Bomberger of Dallas. He was a graduate of Dallas High School. He was - employed at Dorranceton Mill Works Inc., King- ston and was a member of Gate of Heaven Church Dallas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean ‘Casterline Bomberger. MARIE BROKENSHIRE Marie Brokenshire, 85, of West Center Hill Rd., Dallas, died Nov. 6 from injuries suffered in an au- tomobile accident in Dallas. Born in East Benton, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Janus) Sarnoski. She was a graduate of Waverly High School. She was self-employed as a farmer. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Polish National Catho- lic Church, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John, George and Stephen Sarnoski; and sisters, Annette Connors and Stella Jones. Surviving are her stepson, Fred York; nieces, nephews and two stepgrandchildren. ROSE MARIE RITTENHOUSE Rose Marie Rittenhouse, 81, of Trucksville, formerly of West Wyo- ming, died Nov. 11, 2000 at the Valley Crest Nursing Home, Plains Township. Born in West Wyoming, she was a daughter of the late George and Catherine (Thomas) Charney. She attended West Wyoming schools. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Shavertown. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Mountjoy and Mamie Davis; and brothers, Frank, Ralph, George and Michael Charney. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Sheldon; daughters, Rose Marie Retzena, Forty Fort and Marilyn Klem, Edwardsville; nine grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; nieces and neph- ews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; brothers, George, John, Joseph and Ben- jamin Wancheck; sisters, Anna Wegrzynowicz and Catherine and Mary Wancheck. FRANK HARRY Frank T. Harry, 54 of Lehman Township, died Nov. 10, 2000, at his residence following a prolonged treatment for melanoma. Born Sept. 24, 1946, in King- ston. he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth T. (Kalafut) Harry. He was a 1964 graduate of Plymouth High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a military policemen. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, the former Florence M. "Cookie" Nitch; son. Recreation complex to be topic at public meeting Nov. 16 Back Mountain Recreation, Inc. will sponsor a public meeting to introduce the proposed regional recreation project on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Dallas Middle School Auditorium. At the meeting, Back Mountain Recreation, Inc. (BMR), will for- mally introduce the conceptual plan for the Back Mountain sports and recreation complex. BMR will also provide a brief history and project update, and answer ques- tions concerning the project. BMR believes community in- put is essential to developing the project and planning for its long- term management and mainte- nance. As part of the planning process, BMR will hold periodic public meetings, of which Thurs- day night's will be the first. The Board of Directors of BMR is ea- gerly looking forward to meeting with the public, and hopes all interested parties will be able to attend.
