Garrity, 77, of Har- veys Lake, died Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at Hospice Care of the VNA Inpatient Unit at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre. Born Sept. 14, 1923, in Har- veys Lake, he was a son of the late Patrick and Bernadine (Williams) Garrity. He was an area realtor, who founded Garrity Realty, Har- veys Lake. He taught appraising at King's College and was chief tax assessor for Luzerne County. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, holding the rank of -major and serving as a pilot. He was a life member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake and member of its Holy Name Society. He was a member and president of the Great Wilkes-Barre Asso- ciation of Realtors, Appraisal In- stitute, Northeast Chapter, and Assessors of Pennsylvania, and member and vice president of the Society of Professional Assessors. He was a member of the Harveys Lake Fire and Ambulance Co., and served on its board of trust- ees. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary H.; and sister, Mary Payne. Surviving are his daughter, Christine Snell, Harveys Lake; son, Michael J., Harveys Lake; four grandchildren; sister, Bina Stenger, Harveys Lake; brother, Joseph, South Dakota; and sev- eral nieces and nephews. FELIX "PHIL" LIPSKI ~ Felix "Phil" Lipski of Pringle, died Sunday, October 29, 2000, in the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospice Unit in Plains Township. Born in Larksville, he was the son of the late Frank and Sophie (Bondzinski) Lipski. Mr. Lipski was a member of St. Hedwig's Church in Kingston. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Marguerite Dopkavich; sons, Frank, Shaver- town; Philip, Dallas; and Robert, Kingston; daughters, Maria, Vero Beach, Fla.; Joanne, West Palm Beach, Fla.; brothers, William and Joseph, both of Larksville; Frank, Richmond, Va.; and Edward, Shavertown; and eight grandchil- dren. Interment, St. Hedwig's Church Cemetery. MARTHA POSTUPAK Martha Postupak, 87, of Wilkes- Barre, died Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at Mercy Center, Dallas, af- ter a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Larksville, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Ann (Galinus) Karolchyk. Her husband of 59 years, Sylvester, died in 1996.
