Garinger, 80, of Mansfield, formerly of Dallas, died Saturday, October 7, 2000 at the Green Home, Wellsboro. She was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Penns Grove, NJ. She was a gradu- ate of Dallas Borough High School. Surviving are her son, A. Nes- bitt, Richmond, Ind.; daughters, Donna Eastmead: Trenton, NJ; and Denise Wilber, Mansfield; four grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. "Jamie" Amarando, 42, of Dallas, died Monday, Octo- ber 9, 2000, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1958, in Long Island, N.Y., he was a son of Carmela (Sciascia) Amarando, Long Island, and the late Vincent Amarando. He owned and oper- ated Sun Palace Sunoco Stations, Dallas and Lehman. He was a former harness race driver at Pocono Downs. He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, the U.S. Golf Association, U.S. Harness Association and coach for the Bob Horlacher Little League. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Laureen Romano. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 11 years, the former Janice Davis; sons, James Robert and VincentJames, both at home; brother, Alan, Long Island; paternal grandmother, Rachael, Brooklyn, N.Y; and sev- eral nieces and nephews. SISTER MARIE ASSUMPTA SNEERINGER Sister Marie Assumpta Sneeringer, of the Dallas Regional Community of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, died Saturday, October 14, 2000 at Mercy Cen- ter, Dallas. Born Helen Sneeringer on Feb. 28, 1907, in Littlestown, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Hemler) Sneeringer. She earned a bachelors degree from College Misericordia, Dal- las. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1926 and professed her vows in 1929. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clement and George; and sisters, Julia Wieger, Rose Marie Williams and Sister Miriam Joseph Sneeringer, R.S.M.
