Noted physical comedian to visit Penn State ‘Dan Kamin, who created Johnny Depp's physical comedy routines in "Benny and Joon," brings his unique blend of comedy and illusion to Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Kamin will perform on Wednesday, October 4 at 7 p.m. in the Bierly Auditorium. Kamin's presence on campus will be unmistakable. Watch for his appearance as the mysterious "Corpozoid Man," a ghostly figure who moves in hypnotic slow motion and looks like a corporate recruiter from the twilight zone. Then comes "Slick Moves," Kamin's blend of weird skills, rude stunts and outrageous comedy. It's a dazzling combination of eye-popping movement illusions and mind-boggling sleight of hand magic, capped by - some of the routines Kamin created for recent movies. Kamin not only created the physical comedy scenes for the recent films "Benny and Joon" and "Chaplin," he also trained Johnny Depp and Robert Downey, Jr. for their acclaimed performances. More i recently, he consulted on "My Best Friend's Wedding" and Tim Burton's "Mars Attacks!" Kamin's talents have been recognized with invitations to perform at the White House, Lincoln Center, and around the world. He blends low-down comedy with classical music in "Comedy Concer- tos" that are popular with sympho- nies nationwide. He is author of "Charlie Chaplin's One Man Show," revealing the secrets of Chaplin's comic art. Hailed as a breakthrough work, the book boasts a preface by Marcel Marceau.
