[detown’s Bicentennial — A Town and a Family Remember A sunny day, a brass band and hundreds of people combined to make it a perfect day for a town to celebrate its bicentennial and remember its founders. David Ide, the Idetown Bicentennial and Memorial Committee chairman, was Master of Ceremonies. Guest speakers on the platform included Ide family members, I clergy, representatives from the I Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, historians / and state and local government I officials. a A stone memorial was 9 ® dedicated by David Ide, and the + unveiling was conducted by : great grandchildren of Ruth Ide Johnson. Then the crowd participated in a pilgrimage to the Old Ide Burying Ground where markers were placed on the graves of Nehemiah Ide, the . founder of Idetown, and his wife, Mary Bennett Ide.
