Born May 7, 1925, in Wilkes- Barre, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Walters) Purcell. He was an eagle scout, and earned a bachelors degree in biology from Wilkes University. He was a busi- ness man in the Back Mountain, constable for Harveys Lake Bor- ough and a police officer for Har- veys Lake Borough, Jackson Township and Lehman Township. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War Il and mem- ber of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. He was preceded in death by a PETER FRITSKY SR. Peter Fritsky, Sr., 86, of Dallas died Thursday, June 15, 2000 in Hospice Community Care Inpa- tient Unit, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes- Barre. He was born April 24, 1914, in Edwardsville, son of the late John and Ann Zabowskie Fritsky. He was employed as a deputy game protector for 21 years by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. He was formerly employed by the Linear Company, Dallas and the Dodson and Hudak Company, Dallas, as a heavy equipment op- erator. His wife, the former Helen Chorey, preceded him in death. He is survived by sons, Peter Jr. and Eugene R., Dallas; two MARY S. LEANDRI Mary S. Leandri, 85, a guest of Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, and formerly of Luzerne and Dal- las, died Friday, June 16, 2000 in Hospice Community Care Inpa- tient Unit, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes- Barre. Born in Pringle, April 11, 1915, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Karp Skovronski. She was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J., in 1980; by brothers, John, Stanley, An- thony, William, Peter and Joe Skovronski and by sisters, Helen Leshinski and Elizabeth Handley. Mitkowski, 82, of Dal- las, died Saturday, June 17,2000, at the home of his daughter, Laura Fowler, Harveys Lake. He was born in Providence, R.I., son of the late Alex and Josephine Hoynowski Szalas Mitkowski. Brothers, Alex and Frank, pre- ceded him in death. She was preceded in death by brothers, John, Francis, Robert and William; sisters, Margaret, Elizabeth, Kathryn and Mary Louise. Surviving are brothers Thomas R. Girvan, Eugene, Oregon, Jo- seph P.
