Pollock of Dallas, a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University, was recently named to the University's prestigious "University 100." University 100 is a highly selective group of student Solutiisers who work directly with the Chancellor's Office and the Office of Admissions and serve as ambassadors of Syracus University. : Members represent the best and the brightest of the student body, and are selected based on outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement. University 100 members participate in a variety of recruitment activities for prospective students and meet with alumni, trustees. They also meet visiting dignitaries and friends of the University. Adam Hoover awarded degree Adam A. Hoover, of Trucksville, was awarded a bachelor's degree in history during commencement exercises at East Stroudsburg Univer- sity. Hoover graduates from Lycoming Rebecca Hoover is a recent graduate of Lycoming College in Williamsport. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and teaching certification in EI- ementary Education. She finished her final semester at Lycoming College | as a member of the dean's list with a 4.0 GPA. Rebecca has accepted a teaching position with the Montgomery County School District in Maryland. REBECCA ANN HOOVER DeRojas presents research Alma DeRojas of Dallas, was one of 49 Susquehanna University seniors who presented research for Senior Scholar's Day, April 27. DeRojas, an English major, presented her research entitled "Nuestra Herencia/Neustro Futuro." She was supervised by Dr. Leona Martin of the Spanish department. I'm Big Now students visit Lecce Children from the I'm Big Now Learning Center in Dallas recently visited Luzerne County Community College.The children were given a pizza-making demonstration by faculty members from the Hotel and Restaurant Management program. Wilczynski, Piazza at ‘All-State’ band Kasey Wilczynski and Gregg Piazza have been selected and recently performed at "All-State" Band. The concert was held April 15, at the Daniel L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Kasey is the daughter of Steve and Debbie Wilczynski of Shickshinny. She has been a member of the Lake-Lehman Band for S5years. Sheis also the section leader for the clarinets. This year Kasey has also attended District Band, District Orchestra and Re- gion Band. Gregg is the son of Lou and RoseMary Piazza of Shavertown and has also been in the Lake- Lehman Band for 5 years.
