It provides books and reading motivational activi- ties to more than 3 million chil- dren every year. The program shows students reading is fun and FUNdamental to success in life. It encourages children to become lifelong read- ers by building self-esteem and involving the most important people in their lives-parents, teachers and other children, in the learning process. Special activities were held throughout the day, and a contest challenging students to read ended with a total books read for the month at a whopping 2,095! This book distribution was made possible with funds raised by the Lehman-Jackson PTA, by major contributions from UGI Corpora- tion, and special assistance and donations from Sam's Club and Toy 'R' Us.
