Dr. Chin will read from published poems Dr. David Chin, Penn State Wilkes-Barre faculty member will celebrate the publishing of his new poetry collection: The China Cupboard and the Coal Furnace, with a reading and booksigning on Thursday, February 24. The reading will start at 3 p.m. in Hayfield House community room on the campus in Lehman and a coffee/tea reception will follow. Dr. Chin attended Antioch University and earned his MFA from Columbia University and Ph.D. in English from Binghamton University. His poetry appears in various journals, anthologies and inachapbook, Chalkedin Orange. He is a Marion Clayon Link Creative Writing Fellow and his work has been recognized by AWP INTRO Award as well as be a grant from the Vermont Studio Center. Dr. Chin is Assistant Professor of English at Penn State Wilkes- Barre where he teaches creative writing, rhetoric and literature. Every year in April he coordinates the Hayfield Poetry Festival which features free poetry workshops and readings by two noted poets. Dr. Chin resides in Dallas with his wife and daughter.
