The story of a young peasant girl who led an army to help crown a king and was burned at the stake for her efforts, JOAN, incorporates Joan of Arc’s own words from letters, chronicles and testimony at her trial to create the living story of a fearless teen who is bound by her oath to God. In JOAN, six young actors use an empty space to create a scene of Joan's life with movement, voice and sound. The ensemble cast. weave the scenes of Joan's life in between reenactments of the his- tory of France, the use of medieval weapons and the laws of the Catholic Church. The play cre- ates living, physical and exciting theatre without the use of special effects. The cast includes Christy Meyer, Darcie Siciliano, Catherine Maddox, Butch Stevenson and local actors James McMenamin from Bloomsburg U and Dina M Piepoli of Scranton.
