Back Mt. students named to dean's list The University of Scranton has announced the dean’s list, which recognizes students for academic excellence, for the 1999 fall se- mester. Donkey basketball game to be held at LL It’s time again for the annual Lake-Lehman Donkey Basketball Game. The game will pit the se- niors against the faculty at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, in the high school gym. A pregame exhibi- tion will feature the senior girls vs. the senior boys (who will wear boxing gloves). This game will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $3.50 from members of the senior class, in the high school office, and at the door. DMS parent support group to meet Jan. 27 The Dallas Middle School will have a Cultures Night on Thurs- day, Jan.27, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Student projects will be displayed. At 7 p.m., the Parent Support Group meeting will be held in the auditorium. Dr. Schuester of Al- lied Services in Scranton will present a program on different learning styles. All parents and community members are invited to attend. DMS students recognized for academic excellence Recently an assembly was held at the Dallas Middle School to honor the outstanding academic students for the first marking period. Mr. Anthony Martinelli, Dallas Middle School principal, announced that 30 students achieved Honors with Distinction. To be eligible a student must have a 3.8 to 4.0 average with no F or D grades. The school-wide collection competition resulted in a total of 40 boxes of assorted food items and $125 being turned over to the bank. Mrs. Joan Rakowski’s sixth grade homeroom won the contest and will receive a pizza party for its effort on behalf of the area’s needy.
