She was a member of the Shav- ertown United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David J.; son, Cor- poral John D. Lohmann; and daughter, Cathy Lohmann. Weiss, 94, formerly of Main Street in Shavertown, died Dec. 28, 1999, at the Meadows Nursing Center in Dallas after a lengthy illness. Born May 16, 1905, Lehman Township, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Ella Mae (Hoover) Major. Her family was one of the earliest to settle in Lehman Township. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Shavertown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon J.; and sis- ters, Jane Crispell, Agnes Lansbury and Sarah Major. Surviving are her daughter, Louise M. Roberts, Dallas; son, Leon J. Jr., Fernbrook; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grand- children and one nephew.
