Born in Rahway, N.J., he was the son of the late Hazel (Bloss) and Mead R. Beck Sr. He graduated from Kingston Hight School and Wyoming Semi- nary Business School. Heresided at the Bonham Nurs- ing and rehabilitation Center since November. He formerly resided in Dallas for more than 30 years. Before retiring in 1979, he was employed as an office manager for Leslie Fay Inc. He previously was employed as an office manager for the former’ Duplin: Corp., Nanticoke. He was a member of Idetown United Methodist Church and served on various boards and com- mittees. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Florence Houck beck; and brother, Raymond Beck. Surviving are his daughters, Barbara Wolfe, Shickshinny; Mary Lou Nichols, Harveys Lake; seven grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren. Interment will be in Cedar Crest Cemetery, Trucksville, Kingston Township. . Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. KENNETH JUSTUS Kenneth D. Justus, 55, of Goodman Road in Dallas, died Dec. 15, 1999, in Hospice Com- munity Care at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. ~ Born in Gary, Ind., he was a son of the late Wayne and Ursula (Farcaro) Justus. He was a gradu- ate of Macomb High School in Macomb, Ill., and resided in Dal- las the past 30 years. He was employed as an em- ployee representative at Proctor & Gamble in Mehoopany. During the Vietnam era, he served in the Presidential Honor Guard of the U.S. Army. He was part of the Honor Guard for the funerals of former U.S. presidents Kennedy and Hoover. He attended Dallas United Methodist Church and was a vol- unteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Roy and Vir- ginia Justus. Surviving are his wife, the former Karen Lawrence; son, Kristopher D., Aylett Va.; daugh- ter Kingerly D. Justus-Rusin, Woodbridge, Va.; two grandchil- dren; brothers, Douglas P., Hous- ton, TX.; and Leonard A., Macomb, I. Born Dec. 9, 1914, in Larksville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Niezgoda Yunsa. He attended Larksville schools and resided in Shavertown since 1954. Before his retirement, he was employed by the Beltrami Coal Co. as a shovel operator. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served with the Seabees. He was a member of the St. Stephen - St. Mary Church Com- munity of Plymouth, the United Mine Workers of America and American Legion Post 655 in Larksville. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Agnes Ancin. Surviving are his foster son, Benjamin J. Barsh Jr., Shaver- town; sisters. Henrietta Ziegler, Harvey's . Born March 27, 1912, in New York City, he was a son of the late John and Grace (Aldridge) Meade. He attended Philadelphia schools. He had resided in Philadelphia before moving to Trucksville in 1957. Before retiring in 1974, he was employed as a maintenance man for Linear, Inc., in Dallas. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St: Therese’s Church in Shavertown, the parish Holy Name Society and Ushers Group. He also was a member of the Veterans of For- eign Wars post in Dallas. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary (Mae) Voyce; brothers, Wallace and Albert; and stepmother, Elva (Erwine) Meade. Surviving are his daughters, Carol Turak, Hunlock Creek; Judy Dougherty, Larksville; and Mary Pratz, Trucksville, Kingston Town- ship; 11 grandchildren, six great- grandchildren, nieces and neph- ews. ; Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in the Carverton section of Kingston Township. JANET JENKINS Janet S. Jenkins , 92 a guest of Little Flower Manor in Wilkes- Barre and formerly of Dallas, died Dec.14, 1999 at the Little Flower Manor in Wilkes-Barre, and for- merly of Dallas, died Tuesday morning at Little Flower Manor. Born in Plymouth, June 21, 1907, she was a daughter of the late Evan and Margaret Parry Morgan and was a graduate of Plymouth High School, class of 1926. She had served as a legal secre- tary for her late husband, attor- ney Mitchell Jenkins, a partner in the firm of Rosenn, Jenkins and Greenwald in Wilkes-Barre. At- torney Jenkins had also served as a commander in the 109th Field Artillery and was a graduate of the School of Military Government in Charlottesville, Virginia. He had served on the staff of General Joseph Stillwell in New Delhi, In- dia, and had been a member of the United States Congress dur- ing 1947 and 1948. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Dallas. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Isabelle McKnight and Mary Morgan; as well as brothers, Robert Morgan and George Mor- gan. Surviving are, a sister, Anna Davis, Wilkes-Barre; a brother, Raymond Morgan, Wilkes-Barre; a brother-in-law, Roy Morgan, Forty Fort; step-grandsons, David Jenkins, Alan Jenkins and Paul Jenkins, all of California; and lov- ing nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shavertown. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
