New Miseri education scholarship In an effort to support efforts to bring 100,000 new teachers into the nation’s elementary schools, College Misericordia offers a new scholarship for education stu- dents. The scholarship, called "School Partnership Scholarships”, pro- vides a total of $10,000 in finan- cial aid to full-time college stu- dents interested in teaching in elementary schools. Students who receive the Misericordia scholar- ship receive $2,500 per year for four years while they are enrolled in the college's teacher education program. The college asks school district officials to identify high school students who would be good can- didates for careers in teaching. These students are rquired to have a high school grade point average of B or better to show their inter- est in working with children through community involvement and to indicate a desire to become teachers. DHS concert Dec. 12 The Dallas High School Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Chorus will present their annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 3 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The bands will perform various arrangements of traditional holiday music. The High School chorus will also perform selections of holiday songs along with the “Girls Select Chorus.” The concert is open to the public free of charge.
