Ken Regan led Sneaker King with 23 points, while Joe Bednash scored 3 points and Brian Gibbons and Jared Nothstein 2 each. Gilroy Real Estate 34 - Eastern Penn Supply 22 Chris Higdon scored a game high 14 points and Gene Lispi added 9 as Gilroy defeated Eastern Penn 34-22. Josie’s 7-8 GIRLS Jackie Hardwick started the 1st quarter with 4 points and Jessica English added a field goal to lead after one period 6-2. Hardwick dominated the second quarter with 8 points, many rebounds and as- sists followed by a bucket by Samantha Decker. Kim Durr led the Rotary’s sec- ond quarter scoring with 6 points, fol- lowed by Lacey and Clay 4 points apiece to end the half tied at 16. Mounts host Valley View for district title game Dallas scored 21 points in the second quarter as the Mountain- eers cruised to a 31-7 win over Pittston in the District 2 Class AAA semifinals Saturday afternoon at home. Matt Acri was the offensive star, grinding out 135 yards on the ground including two touchdowns. His running partner in the backfield, MattJackson, added two touchdowns and 84 yards on the ground. Quarterback Chuck Suppon was 6-for-10 for 112 passing yards. Matt Douglas tacked on a field goal of 47 yards in the third quarter. Dallas will host Valley View this Saturday for the district champi- onship. The Cougars advanced by beat- ing Berwick 24-21, in a game that might have cost them their star quarterback Tony Pambianco, who suffered what coaches said was a severe ankle injury. If Pambianco doesn’t play, Valley View will likely move Sean Castellani to the signal caller position, and that could be good news for Dallas. Castallani burned Berwick for 196 yards on the ground, running behind an offensive line that opened big cracks in the Dawgs’ defense. Valley View has had an up-and- down season, losing 6-0 to Honesdale in a game that saw them held to just 77 rushing yards. Defense holds line In state quarterfinal Sophomore midfielder Paul Shiber scored on a pass from senior captain Jesse Williams 28 minutes into the game as Dallas advanced into the state AA semifinal against Octorara in Hershey. For the second consecutive state game, junior goalkeeper Nate Hoffman shut out the opposition, making five saves, all key. The defensive line in front of Hoffman, sophomores Andrew George and Tim Faneck and junior Adam Clay, played spectacular ball in the second half when Conrad Weiser was controlling the pos- session of the ball. Dallas 0, ELCO 0 (Dallas Wins 4-2 in Shootout) Dallas advanced to the PIAA AA state quarterfinals with a shootout win over defending state champion ELCO. After a scoreless 80 minutes of regulation, the teams battled to four scoreless sudden- death overtime periods before the man- datory shootout. The first four Moun- taineer shooters all scored, while ELCO had two misses, thus ending the shootout after four shooters from each team. Ricky Branco, Paul Shiber, Adam Clay, and Josh Katyl all converted for Dallas. Keeper Nate Hoffman made a huge save on the first shot of the shootout and added two saves in the time before the shootout.
