OBITUARIES JOSEPH VICTOR Joseph R. Victor, 80, of Shav- ertown section of Kingston Town- ship, died Oct. 28, 1999, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. Born June 16, 1919, in Larksville, he was a son of the late Andrew (Wytrwal) and Celia (Woznock) Victor. He was a graduate of Larksville High School. Before his retirement, he was employed for 45 years as a ware- house superintendent with Acme Markets, Forty Fort. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston and a former member of the VFW Anthracite Post 283, Kingston. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Trettis; twin sons, Robert and Richard Victor; brothers, Frank Wytrwal and Edmund Victor; sisters, Clara and Violet Victor; Stella Elinsky and Elizabeth Melovitz Nemchick. Surviving are his sons, Joseph A., Culver City, CA; and John V., Mechanicsburg; daughter, Linda Esrov, Bethesda, MD; sisters, Jeanette Plotkowski, Milwaukee; and Rita Cyrawa, Rochester, NY; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Interment, St. Ignatius Cem- etery, Pringle. MARGUERITE KALETA Marguerite “Peggy” Kaleta, 52, of Harveys Lake in Lake Town- ship, died Oct. 27, 1999 at her home after an illness. Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Marguerite (Parsons) Shaver. She resided at Harveys Lake for most of her life. She was a 1965 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School and attended Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was employed by Com- monwealth Telephone Co. for the last 18 years. She was a member of the An- thracite Rose Western Dance Club in Dupont. - She was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Shaver, Cynthia Shaver and Sue Shaver. Surviving are her husband of 14 years, Robert S. Kaleta; son, Howard R. Grey Jr., Apple Valley, CA; brothers, Clarence, Groesbeck, TX; Richard, Dearing, GA; Robert, Moreno Valley, CA; and David, Freemansburg; three grandchildren; five nieces and one nephew. Jerrytone, of Lake Street, Dallas, died Oct. 28, 1999, at his home. Born July (17. 1945, in Nanticoke, he was a son of Lottie Wadas and Sebastian Jerrytone of Dawes Avenue, Kingston. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Wilkes College and received a DMD from the Univer- sity of Pennsylvania Dental School in 1971. He earned numerous commen- dations, and extra degrees throughout his dental medicine career. In 1972, he established his practice at 3 E. Main St., Ply- mouth, three months before the Agnes Flood and again in 1973, after recovering from the devasta- tion of his office. She graduated from Kingston High School, class of 1938. She resided in Shavertown for 20 years and in Dallas Township for most of her life. She was a member of the Shav- ertown United Methodist Church. She was also a former member of the Dallas Junior Women’s Club. Surviving are her son, Ted Montross, Dallas; daughter, Carol Pollick Shickshinny; brothers, Alfred Brown, Shavertown; Arga Brown, Spring Hill, FL; sister, Shirley Bunney, Tunkhannock; five grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
