0 ‘Rockin’ the block at Woodridge | The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, September 1,1999 5 o Krakosky —— (continued from page 1) a rewarding experience for Krakosky, who plans to major in the subject as a college student. “I prefer the kind of stuff you can see, on paper, or in the lab,” she said. “I think that is a great way to reinforce the material covered in the lecture part of the class.” Not all life’s lessons can be learned in the classroom, how- ever, and Norah is adamant about maintaining a balance between work and play. “I love to sing,” she said. “It’s definitely something I use, not as a distraction, but as a way to enjoy myself, relax and have fun with my friends.” The school chorus has provided occasions to explore music be- yond the passive method most teenagers employ. “Well, I love Dave Matthews and Sarah McLaughlin so I listen to them a lot,” she said. “But in school we concentrate on the classical style which I really like, too. I do plan to continue singing in college, nothing serious - just for fun.” The music industry's loss will be chemistry’s gain. “The sciences are really an up and coming field, especially for women. That's im- portant to me because I like to think that I am at least equal, if not better, than my male peers and I am anxious to prove that,” Krakosky said, laughing. Despite all the opportunities awaiting her, this Dallas senior is in no rush to make the leap from high school. “I'm really excited NORAH KRAKOSKY ce teacher about college and everything but I'm looking forward to all the nor- mal high school senior stuff, too,” said Krakosky. “Homecoming, soccer games, the prom and graduation - it's one last chance to have a great time with everyone and I'm going to enjoy it.” Mountain Grange selling coupon books Mountain Grange #567 is sell- ing 2000 Entertainment books this year.
